The woman dubbed the “Bad Hair Bandit,” who authorities say robbed a US Bank in Davis during a four-state robbery spree, pleaded guilty to 21 counts of bank robbery Wednesday in federal court, officials said.
Cynthia Lynn Van Holland, 48, a transient from the states of Idaho and Washington, could receive up to 20 years in federal prison for every count when she is sentenced on Oct. 10, U.S. Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner said in a news release.
Van Holland, whose nickname stems from the unusual wigs and disguises she wore during the robberies, is believed to have robbed 21 banks in California, Oregon, Washington and Montana before her arrest last August in Placer County.
Authorities said she robbed the US Bank, 304 F St., on June 28, 2011, netting just under $2,000.
