A 29-year-old Madera woman was hospitalized Monday after being struck by car while riding on a rural Davis bike path, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Tera Louise Pitman was struck shortly before 4 p.m. while riding her bike westbound on the Russell Boulevard bike path at County Road 98. The driver, Dixon resident Buel Vincent Campbell, 82, was southbound on County Road 98 in a Ford Ranger and failed to yield the right of way to Pitman, CHP Officer Bryan Konvalin said.

Pitman was taken by ambulance to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento with unspecified injuries following the collision, according to the Davis Fire Department. She was no longer at the hospital as of Tuesday, a spokesman said.
