Davis police arrested a 31-year-old West Sacramento man Monday for allegedly having a loaded firearm and an illegal weapon.

John Matthew Brown was biking in the 1800 block of Cowell Boulevard in South Davis when he was stopped for a vehicle-code violation at about 10:45 a.m. During the stop, the officer learned that Brown had both the firearm and “an illegal weapon with edged blades,” Davis police Lt. Glenn Glasgow said.

Brown was lodged at the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of possessing a concealed firearm, possessing a loaded firearm, possessing an illegal edged weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm, Glasgow said.
