A Davis woman was hospitalized Monday when her bike collided with a vehicle at First and B streets, police said.

Lt. Glenn Glasgow said the driver, 33-year-old Nithin Dhananjayan of Fair Oaks, was driving westbound on First Street approaching B Street when he struck the cyclist, Shirley Chan, shortly after 7 p.m.

Chan, 26, was thrown from her bike and complained of pain to her body, Glasgow said. She was taken by ambulance to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
