A 15-year-old Woodland boy was hospitalized Monday morning after being struck by a car, police said.

Sgt. Frank Ritter said the collision occurred at about 7:15 a.m. near the intersection of East Gum Avenue and Kate Lane. Officers arrived to find the teen unconscious, and he was taken by ambulance to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for treatment.

The driver of the car, who remained on the scene, was not hurt in the crash, Ritter said.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Woodland Police Department’s traffic division at 530-661-7880.
