This is the third train vs. car collision at this site so far this year! This has always been a problem crossing, and collisions have resulted in several deaths. Grade separation is extremely expensive. However, if Davis could lobby for funding to separate this crossing, perhaps Union Pacific would be (ever so slightly less) hostile to allowing a pedestrian crossing at the Amtrak station in exchange.
