By From page A2 | June 14, 2012

A 35-year-old Davis man was jailed Wednesday after allegedly stealing a car and crashing it into an East Davis house, police said.

Lt. Paul Doroshov said officers were dispatched shortly before 3:30 p.m. to the 1500 block of Pole Line Road, where a Honda sedan had hit the side of a house and the driver was spotted running from the scene.

Police searched the area and detained Robert Rico, who is suspected of stealing the Honda from the Sudwerk parking lot along Pole Line Road, Doroshov said. He was lodged at the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of auto theft, hit and run and driving under the influence.

No injuries were reported from the crash.
