By From page A4 | October 13, 2013

A Davis resident who reportedly wielded a broken glass bottle was arrested by a citizen, and then police, on Friday night.

The incident began at 9:33 p.m. with reports of an ongoing argument on Bidwell Street in northeast Davis. A 23-year-old man, Austin Tanner, allegedly had broken a bottle and was holding it in an aggressive stance, police said.

The reporting party told police that shards of glass had cut the arm of another person present, though medical attention was not sought.

Davis police Sgt. Frank Tenedora said one of the other men made a citizen’s arrest, seizing the bottle from Tanner before apprehending him.

Officers took Tanner into their custody upon arrival. He was booked at Yolo County Jail on a charge of exhibiting a deadly weapon.
