Dixon police probe false robbery report

By From page A3 | February 16, 2012

The Dixon Police Department is investigating a false report of a home-invasion robbery that sent officers rushing to a Carpenter Court home early Wednesday morning.

Officer Sam McInnis said dispatchers received a call at about 4 a.m. reporting that shots had been fired at the house, one victim was wounded and two suspects were still on scene holding the family at gunpoint. Police and Solano County sheriff’s deputies set up a perimeter in the area, only to discover the family asleep and unharmed inside the home.

“At this point the investigation into the false report is in progress,” McInnis said in a news release. Anyone with information is asked to call (707) 678-7070.
