Driver flees scene after causing I-80 crash

By From page A2 | May 08, 2012

A wayward lane change by one car caused two others to collide Sunday morning on Interstate 80 in Davis, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Officer Bryan Konvalin said a gray vehicle made the unsafe lane change while traveling westbound near the Pole Line Road overcrossing shortly before 10 a.m. The driver of a Dodge Stratus swerved left to avoid colliding with the gray car, but struck a Honda CRV instead.

That collision caused the Honda’s driver, 65-year-old Debra Lynn Miller of Roseville, to lose control, run off the road and roll over, Konvalin said. The driver of the gray car fled the scene.

Miller was transported to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento with lacerations to her face and ear, Konvalin said. A woman and two children in the Dodge were not injured.
