A Sacramento man racked up his 11th drunken-driving arrest — and his fifth felony DUI arrest in 10 years — after crashing his motorcycle Sunday in West Sacramento, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Jay Wayne Porterfield, 46, was riding on the transition road from westbound Highway 50 to eastbound Interstate 80 when he lost control of his Kawasaki motorcycle and ran off the road at about 11:15 a.m., a CHP report says.
Porterfield suffered minor injuries despite being thrown from the motorcycle, the report said. Officers determined he was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him.
The CHP report said Porterfield has been arrested 17 times since 1991, 11 of the arrests being for DUI. He was lodged at the Yolo County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
