A bust of a suspected drug house led to a short vehicle pursuit and the arrests of five people Thursday, Davis police reported.
Officers from the Davis Police Department and the Yolo County Narcotics Enforcement Team approached the house in the 800 block of B Street at about 10 a.m. with the intent of serving a search warrant, Lt. Glenn Glasgow said.
“Two persons associated with the house saw the approaching officers and fled in their vehicle, but not before nearly striking an officer who attempted to detain them,” Glasgow said in a news release. “The officer had to jump out of the path of the fleeing vehicle in order to not be struck.”
The officer was not hurt, and the driver of the fleeing vehicle pulled over a short distance away, Glasgow said. The driver, 20-year-old Alfredo Ordonez of Davis, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, felony evading and visiting a known drug house, while passenger Cangleska Standingelk, 35, who has no known address, faces a charge of visiting a known drug house.
At the B Street house, officers arrested residents Sherry Harrington, 43; Tanisha Schuchman, 32; and Dwayne Scott Durant, 21; on suspicion of maintaining a house for narcotics sales, Glasgow said. Harrington and Durant also face charges of possessing drug paraphernalia.
All five were lodged at the Yolo County Jail.
