People in the area of Russell and Arlington boulevards spotted something unusual Tuesday morning.

A hot-air balloon touched down in a field just south of the West Davis intersection shortly after 8:30 a.m. Davis police Lt. Glenn Glasgow said the balloon was having mechanical problems and had to make an emergency landing. No injuries were reported.

Information about where the balloon began its journey and how many people were on board was not available.
