Lightning strikes house in Wildhorse neighborhood

By From page A3 | April 02, 2013

Davis firefighters responded to a home in Wildhorse on Saturday night after the residence was struck by lightning.

Fire Department spokeswoman Evelyn George said a tree and front siding of the house in the 2400 block of Sloan Street were damaged by a bolt of lightning shortly before midnight. A resident reported that a light had “exploded” inside the home, but there was no evidence of fire or other damage. No injuries were reported.

George said the lightning did trip the home’s electrical panel, and the residents were advised not to turn on the electricity until PG&E conducted an inspection.
