Yolo Superior Court Judge Dan Maguire has been elected president of the Yolo County Law Library Board of Trustees, court officials announced.

Maguire succeeds attorney Frank Crum, who served as president for the past three years. The other board members are Judge David Rosenberg, Judge Steven M. Basha, Judge Kathleen M. White and attorneys Crum, Alice Meserve and Robyn Drivon. Kathryn Bates Turner is the library director.

The Law Library, which celebrates its 120th anniversary this year, serves the Yolo bench, bar and county citizens by providing access to legal information.

“I am honored to serve as president of the Yolo County Law Library Board of Trustees,” Maguire said in a news release announcing his Feb. 15 election. “I am proud to be part of this organization.”

The Law Library is at 204 Fourth St., Suite A in Woodland. Its regular hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Yolo County Law librarians and staff assist patrons with legal research and provide legal information, but are not allowed to give legal advice. There is no charge for the use of the library, including the use of the public-access computers and typewriter.
