Man arrested for possession of switch blade

Davis police arrested a Vacaville man early Wednesday after officers found a switchblade knife in his car during a search after a routine traffic stop.

Around 5 a.m., a Davis police officer stopped Sergio Mejia Jr. in the 4400 block of Chiles Road for a vehicle code violation, according to a Davis police report. Upon contacting Mejia, the officer discovered that the man had a misdemeanor warrant out for his arrest.

Mejia was taken into custody and ,during a search of his car, the officer found the switchblade. Mejia was booked in Yolo County Jail and arrested on the warrant, for possession of the illegal weapon and driving on a suspended license.
