The seventh edition of Davis Police Department trading cards are now available.

Forty-one officers, including Chief Landy Black, participated in the new edition, the first to be released since 2003.

The purpose of the cards is to encourage youths to interact with the officers who serve their community.

“It’s a good icebreaker,” said Sgt. Frank Tenedora, who designed the artwork on the cards. Each one is personalized to reflect the individual officer’s hobbies and interests.

Kids can request the cards by stopping officers on the street and asking for them, or by visiting the Davis police station at 2600 Fifth St., Tenedora said.
