Peeping escalates to robbery
Davis police are seeking an alleged “peeping Tom” who also may be a robbery suspect.
Lt. Paul Doroshov said the case dates back to May 30, when a 17-year-old girl spotted a man videotaping her with his cell phone through a window at the Tanglewood Apartments, 1880 Cowell Blvd. The man fled before police arrived on scene.
Four months later, on Thursday night, the girl spotted what appeared to be the same man peering through the window of a neighboring apartment, Doroshov said. She alerted her father, who confronted the man with his own video camera.
“He asked the guy for his name, and the guy snatched the camera away,” Doroshov said. The suspect fled the scene, leaving the father with minor injuries to his hand.
The suspect is described as an African-American male in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. Anyone with information about his identity is asked to contact the Davis Police Department at (530) 747-5400.
