Woodland police have arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with a two-week robbery spree at six local businesses.

Salvador Jimenez of Woodland was taken into custody in a West Court Street parking lot shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday, less than a day after police released a picture of the alleged robber captured on security video. Multiple citizens responded with tips that led to the arrest, Lt. Anthony Cucchi said.

Cucchi said Jimenez is a suspect in at least six robberies that have occurred in Woodland between July 7 and last Saturday. The suspect implied having a gun underneath his shirt, though no weapon was ever seen.

Jimenez was lodged at the Yolo County Jail.
