Davis police are investigating a report of a sexual assault at Mace Ranch apartment complex.

According to Lt. Glenn Glasgow, police and firefighters were dispatched at 12:35 p.m. Thursday to the 4500 block of Alhambra Boulevard, where a woman reported being assaulted by two men earlier in the day.

“The victim reported that at 5 a.m. she was grabbed by two males as she walked out of her apartment,” Glasgow said in a news release. “She was forced back into her apartment, where she tried to fight them off, but couldn’t.”

The woman said both men sexually assaulted her before fleeing. She described both suspects as white males, one with brown hair, the other with black hair, Glasgow said. No further descriptions were available.

Glasgow said the woman was treated for minor physical injuries, while detectives examined the scene for possible evidence from the assault. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Davis Police Department’s sexual assault unit at 530-747-5400.

Police also remind residents to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious people or activity in their neighborhoods.
