A Davis man arrested in connection with a home-invasion robbery last week is facing a fresh set of charges, police said Monday.
Investigators have linked 20-year-old Grensted to a burglary that occurred on Oyster Bay Avenue last Wednesday — just hours before the home-invasion robbery on Notre Dame Drive, according to Lt. Paul Doroshov. A Winters woman has been arrested in the burglary case as well.
Police say Grensted was the alleged getaway driver in the robbery, in which two men burst into the Notre Dame home, pepper-sprayed several residents and made off with a large amount of cocaine. Two Winters brothers, Eric and Bryan Panzich, were arrested after officers stopped them in car Grensted was driving.
An hour before the robbery, a resident of Oyster Bay Avenue called police to report that someone had ransacked their home, stealing jewelry and other property.
During their investigation, police “determined that Jared Grensted was also involved in this burglary,” Doroshov said, though he declined to elaborate what allegedly linked him to the crime. Detectives recovered some of the stolen property from a Vacaville pawn shop.
More was found at the Winters home of 18-year-old Elvira Maria Lemos, whose home was searched Friday as part of the burglary investigation, Doroshov said. Lemos was arrested on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy.
Doroshov said Grensted was still in Yolo County Jail custody for the robbery case when police added the burglary and conspiracy counts Friday. He is due back in court July 28.
Police are still seeking a third suspect in connection with the Oyster Bay Avenue burglary, Doroshov said. The Panzich brothers were not believed to be involved, he added.
