Police seek suspect in Woodland robbery spree

Woodland police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who has robbed at least six local businesses over the past two weeks.

He is described a white or Hispanic male in his mid-30s to early 40s, standing 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 with a medium build. Lt. Anthony Cucchi said he appears to work alone, indicating he carries a gun under his shirt though one is never seen, and leaves the robbery scenes on bike.

Between July 7 and Saturday, the suspect has targeted the following six locations: Razz Yogurt Shop, 353 W. Main St.; Sally’s Beauty Supply, 1374 E. Main St.; College Drive-In Cleaners, 1309 College St.; Papa Murphy’s Pizza, 9 Main St.; Jack in the Box, 1200 E. Main St.; and Jimboy’s Tacos, 85 W. Court St.

Cucchi said most of the robberies have occurred between 3 and 6 p.m., although one took place at 8:30 a.m. In each case, the suspect has worn shorts, baseball caps and sunglasses and covers his lower face with something prior to the robbery. He is usually is seen carrying a small bag or backpack.

Anyone with information about the suspect or recent robberies, or who has noticed suspicious activity similar to that described here, is urged to call the Woodland Police Department at 530-661-2414.
