Reckless driving leads to DUI arrest

By From page A2 | June 21, 2013

Davis police arrested a Tehachapi man Thursday on suspicion of drunken driving, recovering two firearms in the process.

Lt. Glenn Glasgow said an officer made an enforcement stop at about 1:15 p.m. at Fifth and L streets of a vehicle that had been reported as driving recklessly. As the officer made contact with the driver, he reportedly noticed an exposed firearm in a holster on the motorist’s belt and summoned backup.

Additional officers responded to the scene, and the driver, 59-year-old David Grier, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, Glasgow said. Police recovered a second firearm in the car, but later determined that both guns were legally possessed.
