Yolo County sheriff’s investigators are seeking information about the stabbing of an Arbuckle man near the northern Yolo County line.

Sgt. Lance Faille said a co-worker called the 49-year-old victim on his cell phone early Monday when he failed to show up for his midnight shift at Adams Vegetable Oils Inc. in Colusa County.

The man “was able to answer his cell phone and told the co-worker he was dying and that he was on County Line Road” in Dunnigan, Faille said in a news release issued Tuesday evening. The co-worker then drove the victim’s usual route to work and found him lying on the side of the road with stab wounds to his upper body and head.

He was taken by air ambulance to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Investigators later found the victim’s car parked along County Road 99W, south of County Line Road.

The incident is being investigated as an attempted homicide, Faille said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Yolo County Sheriff’s Investigations Unit at 530-668-5212.
