Two Davis men and one juvenile male in possession of thousands of dollars worth of stolen property were arrested Saturday after being caught burglarizing a residence in South Davis.

Around 3:45 a.m., police officers received a call from a resident at the 1800 block of Cowell Boulevard who had come home to discover that their front door was open.

When officers arrived at the scene they made contact and apprehended Davis residents Paul Contini, 18, Geron Earnest, 18, and a 17-year-old juvenile male who had illegally entered the residence.

After questioning the suspects, each of whom have a record with the department, the police learned where the three might have stashed other stolen property. Officers later arrived to a residence at the 1500 block of L Street with a warrant where they discovered thousands of dollars worth of electronics and other personal belongings.

The trio was arrested for burglary, conspiracy and receiving stolen property. The two men were booked at Yolo County Jail and the juvenile was released to his parents.

The police department has been battling a rash of home burglaries for months, with thieves commonly breaking into homes during the day while residents are gone for work or school.

Several arrests have been made in connection with some of the dozens of reported burglaries that have occurred, but according to a Davis police spokesperson, it’s not yet clear whether these individuals are involved.

The police will continue the investigation in the coming weeks by matching the stolen property found Saturday with past police reports to determine any level of involvement.
