Two men jailed after downtown scuffle

Davis police arrested two Fairfield men early Friday following a scuffle that left one officer injured.

Lt. Glenn Glasgow said officers who were dispatched at 1:15 a.m. to reports of a bar fight arrived to find several employees attempting to restrain 23-year-old Shawn Scharr, who allegedly resisted as the officers detained him. One officer reported sustaining minor injuries to his hand.

Scharr was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and public intoxication. His friend Brian Woodson, 37, who Glasglow said attempted to interfere with officers at the scene, also was arrested on a drunk-in-public charge.
