Woodland police are seeking a man who assaulted and attempted to rob two Woodland residents early Sunday morning.

Sgt. Steve Sexton said the victims, both age 26, were walking northbound on Third Street near Main Street at about 12:30 a.m. when the suspect approached them and demanded money, then struck one man in the arm and the other in the head with a blunt object.

One of the victims was briefly rendered unconscious, while the other ran to call police, Sexton said. Neither victim sustained life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was described as a white male, about 30 years old, with a shaved head and goatee, wearing jeans and a checkered flannel shirt. He was last seen running south on Third Street.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Woodland Police Department at 530-661-7800.
