Woodland woman raped at knifepoint

By From page A3 | November 11, 2012

A Woodland woman was raped in her home Wednesday after an unknown male suspect broke into her house and sexually assaulted her at knifepoint.

Woodland Police officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Oak Avenue early Wednesday in response to a rape in progress.

Once on the scene, the officers found the victim at her neighbor’s residence and she told them that the suspect was still in her house. The officers could not locate the suspect, however, inside the house or in the surrounding area.

The victim explained that she was woken up by the suspect at knifepoint. She was then “disrobed” and sexually assaulted before escaping and fleeing to her neighbor’s residence to call the police.

The woman suffered non life-threatening injuries but was taken to the hospital for examination. She described the suspect as a medium-build hispanic or white male wearing a black “beanie type hat.”

The Woodland Police Department is still investigating the incident. Anyone with additional information should call the Woodland Police Depart. at 530-661-7800.
