Davis choir to be featured on KVIE

By From page A9 | February 15, 2012

The Davis Threshold Choir will be featured on the KVIE ViewFinder series “Living with Pain,” airing at 7 p.m. Wednesday. One of the people featured in the program is local songwriter and choir member Tina Greene, who is currently unable to sing because of an injury.

The Threshold Choir is a volunteer service group that honors the ancient tradition of women singing quietly at the bedside of people facing life’s ultimate challenges. When invited, the choir sings in small groups of two to five singers for people who are ill and dying and for those who are recovering from a serious illness.

The women also sing to each other during times of stress, loss or change in their own lives. The repertoire includes chants, lullabies, hymns and spirituals.

The choir welcomes prospective members to its practices on the first Monday evening of each month. For more information, contact Nan Rowan at (530) 756-4062 or [email protected].
