One driver was injured when her Ford Focus collided with another vehicle at County Road 98 and Hutchison Drive on Wednesday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Hayley Ann Claire Ortman, 19, of Davis, was traveling westbound on Hutchison Drive shortly after 8 a.m. when, due to heavy fog, she failed to notice a Nissan Altima approaching on southbound County Road 98 and drove into its path, Officer Bryan Konvalin said.

Both vehicles sustained major damage, and Ortman was taken to Sutter Davis Hospital with a laceration to her head, Konvalin said. The Nissan’s driver, 31-year-old Fernando Chavez of Woodland, was unhurt.
