‘Davisville’ checks in on Picnic Day

By
March 25, 2011 |

Picnic Day, on Saturday, April 16, is less than three weeks away. Last year’s event was plagued by off-campus drunkenness, arrests and general obnoxiousness. This year the city, merchants and UC Davis have taken steps to inhibit that behavior.

Will the countermeasures work? On the latest “Davisville,” Entertainment Director Mac Walker and Parade Director Jennifer Mappus, both members of the student-run Picnic Day board, discuss this year’s plans, entertainment, parade and other attractions.

“Davisville,” hosted by Bill Buchanan, is broadcast on Davis station KDRT-LP, 95.7 FM. The show airs Mondays at 5:30 p.m., Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. The Picnic Day program will be broadcast from March 28 through April 6. It also will be available online anytime after the first broadcast at http://www.kdrt.org.
