Deebo’s reunion planned Saturday

By April 29, 2011

Local residents are invited to step into the past at a Deebo’s reunion Saturday at John and Jan Wright’s home, 19151 County Road 95A in Woodland. The party starts promptly at 3:08 p.m.

In the mid-1960s, Deebo’s restaurant was at the corner of Second and G streets, where Shuz now stands, recalls Jeanne DeFazio, daughter of one of the owners.

“It was the only night club in town with live music. It served beer and soda and pizza and was the student favorite night spot,” she says.

Guests at Saturday’s celebration are asked to bring a salad, dessert, snack or a favorite dish, as well as their own beverages. The afternoon will offer lots of time for old friends to share memories.

Camping space is available. For more information, call Lewanne Luttrell Singley at (530) 902-9376.
