Davis Catholics are invited to attend one of three upcoming receptions to learn about the Sacramento Diocese’s ONE Campaign to revive the mission of the church.

Two receptions open to all parishioners will be held this week — at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Another will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22. All are at St. James Memorial Center, 1275 B St. in Davis.

The receptions will provide information about the ONE Campaign, which was launched this summer by Bishop Jaime Soto of the Sacramento Diocese.

The campaign is an organized effort of the Catholic Diocese of Sacramento to revive the church’s mission to support Catholic education and serve the poor. It also aims to unify all local parishes in the mission through gifts of money and service.

By reaching the goal, it will allow the 105 parishes from Redding to Solano County to provide scholarships for low-income families in its 40 parish schools, strengthen youth ministry and pastoral care, expand the reach of its Spanish language station, Radio Santisima, and augment services to regional food banks.

”This is a promising endeavor to help us serve in any way our hearts our moved,” said Father Peter Bosque, pastor of St. James Catholic Church in Davis.

For more information, call the St. James parish office at 530-756-3636. To learn more about the ONE Campaign, visit the website at www.ONERevival.org.
