By April 26, 2011

The Cache Creek Watershed Forum will present Cache Creek Discovery Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Cache Creek Nature Preserve, 34199 County Road 20 in Woodland.

The free event, designed for all ages, celebrates Watershed Awareness Month. Activities will include wildlife viewing, guided hikes and educational displays and demonstrations, such as Native American basketry, fish biology, fire truck and wildfire safety, native plants and pollinators, wildlife tracks and scat, an interactive watershed model, farm edges for habitat, weed warriors and their work, and a stream table game.

Participants can bring their own picnic lunches or purchase a barbecue lunch. There will be live music during lunch. The location has restroom facilities. The hikes may require shallow wet crossings.
