Discuss ‘The Alma Drawings’ on Tuesday

By

A screening of “The Alma Drawings” and a discussion afterward are planned at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Village Homes Community Center, 2661 Portage Bay Ave. East in Davis.

The event is sponsored by the Center for Spiritual Living in Davis and The Wisdom Bridge, A Home for Intercultural/Interfaith Celebration and Harmony.

Alma Rumball lived modestly in a small, northern Ontario town. From age 50 on, she produced a torrent of drawings of extraordinary complexity and size, explored in this gentle film created by her nephew, a news release said.

Geographically isolated, she nonetheless created, among many others, images recognized by Kalu Rinpoche, spiritual adviser to the Dalai Lama, as Tibetan Buddhist, the release said.

For more information, call Molly Cate at (530) 661-7044.
