By From page A4 | July 01, 2012

St. James Catholic Church will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, July 8, in the church’s memorial center, 1275 B St.

Donors can earn reward points that can be redeemed for Baskin-Robbins ice cream or other treats. Donors also may be entered into a drawing for a chance to win four tickets to a Sacramento River Cats game.

Donating blood is safe, easy and takes about an hour. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, be at least 17 years old (16 with a signed BloodSource parental consent form) and be generally healthy. There is no upper age limit for blood donations.

Donors must bring a photo ID and should drink plenty of fluids before donating.

Potential marrow donors can register for Be the Match through BloodSource. Find more information at www.bloodsource.org
