Students from the “Save Our Frogs and Salamanders” Club at North Davis Elementary will have froggy fun at the Davis Farmers Market on Saturday, April 27. The group will perform and selling copies of their new CD, special T-shirts and other items at a stand at the market on Saturday, which is International “Save the Frogs” Day. Donations will also be accepted.
The new CD, which was locally produced, includes music performed by the students using voice, piano, trumpet, clarinet, viola, violin, cello and guitar.
As a fundraiser for the cause, the students will also sell “Save the Frogs” T-shirts, chico bags, wristbands, stickers, bumper stickers, key chains, magnets, craft items, books, origami, wooden toys and other items.
There will also be a petition that visitors can sign, asking that bull frog importation, sale and release be banned in California.
This is the fifth annual “Save the Frogs” day; the event is now celebrated in 35 countries.
