Davis author Scott Evans will sign copies of his new novel, “Sylvia’s Secret,” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Logos Books, 513 Second St., and at noon Sunday at The Avid Reader, 617 Second St. Both bookstores are in downtown Davis.

“Sylvia’s Secret” is a fast-paced psychological murder mystery set mostly in London and Devon, England, during mid-December. Based on several years of research, this fictional work weaves historical information into a dark and intriguing plot that explores Sylvia Plath’s struggle with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, as well as the actual circumstances of her death.

The research has unearthed a little-known fact about Plath that, when revealed, may provide answers not just for those interested in the tragic author of “The Bell Jar,” but also for anyone who suffers with depression and mental illness. The book is rated “PG-14″ for some strong language, light sensuality and adult themes.

For more information, call the author at 530-902-0026.
