On Monday, Nov. 19, Yolo County residents are invited to a fundraiser for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The event, “West Coast Rallies for East Coast,” will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at International House, Davis, 10 College Park.

Davis Sunset Rotary is joining with I-House and the interfaith community Celebration of Abraham to support the fundraiser. Those attending will be invited to write a check to the American Red Cross.

“We have organized fundraisers for disasters in Japan and Haiti, and now the East Coast needs our help,” said Elisabeth Sherwin, I-House executive director. “Please bring a dish to share and your checkbook.”

Hamza El Nakhal, acting I-House president, added, “This is an important act of solidarity. When a natural disaster strikes, there’s no difference in the race, nationality or creed of the victims.”

For more information, call I-House at 530-753-5007.
