Quail Ridge Wilderness Conservancy will offer an interpretive walk on Quail Ridge Reserve on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 2 to 6 p.m.

Quail Ridge Wilderness Conservancy Executive Director Frank Maurer, a zoologist and ecologist, will lead the walk.

Walkers will learn about the wildlife, native habitats and human history of the Berryessa region. The walk will feature dry upland forest habitat, which includes native grasses, oak woodland and chaparral, all adapted to limited water.

Drinking water and a snack are recommended. Binoculars and a camera may be brought if desired.

Walkers will gather at 1:45 p.m. at Markley Cove Resort on Lake Berryessa and will leave the reserve at about 6 p.m. All participants must leave at the same time. The walk will be canceled only in the event of rain.

To reserve a place and get directions, call 530-219-4477.
