Hear fados Sunday at I-House

Goran Muhlert, Scarlet Huber, Jan Peters and other friendswill play a mix of traditional and contemporary fados — a genre of urban Portuguese music — on Sunday evening at International House, 10 College Park.

Fados are known for emotionally charged lyrics, soulful melodies and themes of longing, passion, melancholy, geography and even poetry itself.

The Sundays @ I-House series features cross-cultural exchanges through the main performers as well as open-mic participants and runs from 7 to 10 p.m. each Sunday. Admission is free but donations are accepted with gratitude. Desserts and beverages are available for purchase.
