Yolo County Master Gardeners and Woodland Community College will hold their annual Fall Garden Open House and Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the WCC campus, 2300 E. Gibson Road in Woodland.

Master Gardeners will present free workshops all day. From 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., the subject is “How to Grow Winter Vegetables”; from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m., it’s “Basic Compost and How to Compost with a Worm Bin”; and from noon to 12:45 p.m., the topic is “Fall Garden Planting.”

Representatives of the city of Woodland’s Recycling Program will give free food scrap buckets to those attending the composting class. No pre-registration is necessary for the workshops.

A variety of ornamentals and winter vegetable transplants will be available for purchase at the plant sale, with proceeds benefiting the Yolo County Master Gardener Program and Woodland Community College.
