Volunteers are needed to help children and families do arts and crafts activities at the Yolo County Fair.

The 11th annual Yolo County Children’s Alliance Family Fun Barn relies on community efforts for the continued success of the venue. Sponsored by Woodland Healthcare, the Family Fun Barn features ongoing crafts, special presentations and hands-on science activities until 9 p.m. each day of the fair, Aug. 13-17.

The Family Fun Barn is a great way for high school students to earn community service hours, or for local groups to work directly with local families. Service groups and youth organizations are also welcome.

Several time slots are still available for volunteers. Volunteer shifts are two hours long between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. All volunteers receive a free parking pass, and anyone who signs up for two or more shifts will receive a 2014 YCCA Family Fun Barn T-shirt.

To sign up, visit www.signupgenius.com/go/9040e44aaa72aa57-ycca.

For more information, contact Hiedi Andersen, Family Fun Barn coordinator, at 530-867-1696 or hiedi@mac.com.
