A seasonal, farm-to-table dinner Friday in Sacramento will benefit a nonprofit organization that provides school supplies and backpacks to farmworkers’ children in addition to giving an annual agriculture scholarship.
The dinner will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Mulvaney’s B&L, 1215 19th St. Sacramento has recently branded the city as America’s Farm-to-Form Capital. This seasonal dinner recognizes the region’s abundance of local farmland, food production, exports and vibrant culinary scene.
During the meal, farmer Thaddeus Barsotti and chef Patrick Mulvaney will talk about the creation of the meal, sustainable farming and the importance of seasonal, local eating.
The dinner benefits the Kathleen Barsotti Non-Profit for Sustainable Agriculture, founded by Barsotti’s mother, who started Farm Fresh To You, a Community Supported Agriculture program, and co-founded Capay Organic Farm and the Davis Farmers Market.
Tickets are $95 for a four-course meal, which features seasonal produce from Capay Organic. Wine from Capay Valley Vineyard and Seka Hills is included in price. Tickets may be purchased at http://fftymulvaneysdinner.eventbrite.com.
