Farmers Market has postcards for sale

The Davis Farmers Market has produced a series of eight full-color postcards that are now on sale at the market shed during regular market hours, Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesdays from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The postcards feature people and produce of Davis’s well-loved farmers market and were designed by the market’s office manager and graphic designer, Patty Graves. Photographs are also by Graves, with the exception of the market pavilion photo, which was taken by Karin Higgins of UC Davis.

“In the past few years, so many market visitors and customers have inquired about the availability of market postcards,” said market manager Randii MacNear. “We finally have a lovely collection that captures the market’s appeal.”

MacNear gave a set of the postcards to each member of the City Council at a recent council meeting when she delivered an annual report to the council on the market’s success in 2012.

Postcards are 50 cents each, or $3 for a package including all eight photos.
