Davis’ Downtown Holiday Open House rings in the holiday season on Thursday. Here are the highlights:
5:30 p.m.: Children’s parade line-up begins at Davis Food Co-op, 620 G St.
6 p.m.: Parade starts and marches to the E Street Plaza
6:30 p.m.: Christmas tree-lighting ceremony on the plaza, featuring entertainment by the Davis High School Jazz Choir, DHS Madrigals and caroling workshop participants and the Cal Aggie Marching Band-uh
6, 6:40, 7:20 and 8 p.m.: Free screenings of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” Varsity Theatre, 616 Second St.
6:30-8:30 p.m.: Free horse-drawn carriage rides depart every 10 minutes from in front of nestware, 207 F St.
6:45-8 p.m.: Grace Valley Carolers perform outside Varsity Theatre, 616 Second St.
6:45-8:15 p.m.: Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at former Dimple Records store, 212 F St.
7 p.m.: The Voices of Experience, an adult a cappella choir, will perform holiday songs at The Avid Reader, 617 Second St.
7:30 p.m.: Free Thursday Live! holiday music show, Odd Fellows Hall, 415 Second St.
