The Davis Food Co-op, 620 G St. in downtown Davis, will host wine tastings in January, February and March to benefit the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center of Yolo County.
The first tasting, on Friday, Jan. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., will be of “Amazing Wines under $10.” The cost is $1 per wine tasted.
Future tastings to benefit SADVC include Deschutes brewery, Jan. 11; foothills wines, Jan. 18; cider, Feb. 1; “all things sweet and luscious,” Feb. 8; distinctive reds, Feb. 15; beer geek, March 1; “local love,” March 8; and springtime wine, March 15.
SADVC served more than 2,050 survivors of violence in 2011. Its mission is to eliminate sexual assault and domestic violence through sensitive prevention, intervention and treatment. Even very small donations can help, a news release said — $24 provides one night of shelter for a victim of domestic violence.
