Food for the hungry

By From page A10 | April 18, 2014

Eileen Barrera, a staff member at the Center for Families at Montgomery Elementary School, arranges bags of food to be picked up Thursday afternoon at the school. Thanks to the Yolo Food Bank, 1,300 families throughout the county are receiving a ham, turkey or chicken, plus an assortment of fresh produce and a variety of nonperishable goods, enough to provide an Easter or Passover meal. The Food Bank partnered with several local agencies for the distribution, including the Yolo County Children’s Alliance, RISE, Family Action Center and the Centers for Families.
