Forum will explore injured veterans’ issues

By From page A5 | July 29, 2014

Are you a veteran? Is there a veteran in your life? Come join a community forum devoted to injured war veterans’ issues on Wednesday, July 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis.

This free forum is part of a citywide community book project focusing on the experiences of injured U.S. war veterans returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan, and is based on the book, “Thank You for Your Service,” by best-selling author David Finkel.

Moderator Krystyna von Henneberg encourages veterans from all wars, recent and not-so-recent, to come and share their experiences of transition from war to civilian life in their own words. She also warmly invites all those who work with, or know veterans, as well as all those interested in learning more about veterans’ issues.

This event will be held in the Blanchard Room at the library, which is accessible to people with disabilities, and is sponsored by the Friends of the Yolo County Libraries and Creative Language Works. For more information, contact librarian and co-organizer Joan Tuss at [email protected]
