Applications for the 2013 Yolo Youth Service Awards are available now from the Yolo Community Foundation, www.yolocf.org. Applications are due March 22 and awards will be announced by April 30.
The YoYoSA program is designed to promote and reward Yolo County youths who volunteer with local nonprofit organizations, and encourages local nonprofits to engage with youth volunteers.
YCF seeks applications from high school seniors who have volunteered with a recognized Yolo County nonprofit at least 60 hours during their junior or senior years of high school. YoYoSA student awardees will receive a $1,000 scholarship to support post-high school education, which may include college, vocational or technical school. A $500 grant will be awarded to the nonprofit agency sponsoring each YoYoSA student scholarship winner.
The foundation strives to boost local philanthropy by serving donors, nonprofits and youths in Yolo County. To learn more, visit www.yolocf.org, email info@yolocf.org or call 530-312-0593.
